Micro-needling and Platement Rich Plasma (PRP)
Micro-needling and Platement Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-surgical, innovative treatment that is growing more and more popular nationally and with our Metamorphosis clients because of its ability to achieve smoother and firmer skin. Through the utilization of the MicroPen, microscopic channels are developed on the skin’s surface which is a catalyst for the production of collagen. This of course enhances the skin’s overall health and youthful appearance.
At Metamorphosis we often combine micro-needling treatments with platelet-rich plasma (PRP to give our clients even more amazing results over the typical micro-needling method. This treatment encourages the skin’s natural healing ability and rejuvenation process. Micro-needling with PRP uses the client’s own platelets to enhance the results of micro-needling on an even higher level.
The client’s platelets accelerate the body’s healing process by promoting the production of new elastin and collagen. The addition of PRP with the micro-needling treatment is a perfect treatment for clients looking to reduce signs of aging including the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and even acne scars.
The MicroPen simply glides over the skin and uses tiny needle pricks to initiate “micro injuries” to the skin. If PRP is used, a small amount of your own blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, then placed into a machine that separates out the platelet-rich plasma. The PRP is then applied to the treatment area while the micro-needling is being performed on the patient. It penetrates the patient’s skin through the small channels which magnifies and enhances the growth factors.
TYPICAL RECOVERY TIME:
The patient’s face may be swollen and red for 1 to 2 days after the treatment has been performed, but recovery time is typically minimal. This the perfect skin treatment for patient’s who want to rejuvenate their skin and restore their youthful appearance without invasive surgery or extensive downtime.
Metamorphosis recommends that patients receive between 4 to 8 treatments for best results, spaced 4 to 6 weeks with four to sex weeks in between treatments. Metamorphosis patients usually begin seeing results after 2 treatments due to the increase of collagen being produced.
